Tests for cosmetics
Assessment of antimicrobial efficacy of preservatives:
- Test according to Chapter 5.1.3, “Efficacy of Antimicrobial Preservation”, of the European Pharmacopoeia
- NF EN ISO 11930 Evaluation of the antimicrobial protection of a cosmetic product
Both of these tests can be performed under COFRAC-accredited conditions.
These tests quantify microbial contamination in products.
Both standards can be performed under COFRAC-accredited conditions:
- NF EN ISO 21149 Enumeration and detection of aerobic mesophilic bacteria
- NF EN ISO 16212 Enumeration of yeast and mold
IRM also performs tests according to standards NF EN ISO 18416, 21150, 22717 and 22718 to detect specific organisms.
Test protocols can be adapted for products with particular matrices.
