COFRAC

COFRAC: the French accreditation authority

Since its creation, IRM has been in compliance with the standard NF EN ISO/IEC 17025, “General requirements for the competence of testing and calibration laboratories”. To validate the correct application of the measures comprised in that standard, IRM solicits COFRAC (Comité Français d’Accréditation), the French national accreditation entity.

Experts mandated by COFRAC audit IRM roughly every 15 months to verify the correct application of the measures required by the standard NF EN ISO/IEC 17025. For our clients and partners, IRM’s COFRAC accreditation is proof of:

  • our quality system management
  • our technical competence
  • our ability to furnish valid technical results

Importantly, COFRAC participates in multi-lateral agreements with numerous countries, giving its accreditation international reach.

Good Laboratory Practices (GLP)

To complement our quality approach and respond to the needs of our clients, we quickly focused on meeting Good Laboratory Practices (GLP) requirements for our ecotoxicology and chemical laboratories.

Today, IRM is a recognized GLP lab, in conformity with Annex II of Article D523-8 of the French Environmental Code, in the following areas of expertise:

  • Physical-chemical testing
  • Environmental toxicity studies on aquatic organisms

At IRM, we can perform studies in accordance with GLP for biocides, detergents, and industrial chemical products.

The implementation of GLP guarantees a quality approach for performing, monitoring, recording results and archiving these studies.
