Acute toxicity: Determination of the inhibition of Daphnia mobility
- NF EN ISO 6341: Determination of the inhibition of the mobility of Daphnia magna Straus
- LD OECD 202: Daphnia sp. acute immobilization test
Purpose: To determine the concentration that immobilizes 50% (EC50) of Daphnia magna (a fresh-water crustacean) in 24 or 48 hours.
Chronic toxicity: Determination of the inhibition of Daphnia reproduction
- NF EN ISO 10706: Water quality – Determination of long term toxicity of substances to Daphnia magna Straus
- LD OECD 211: Daphnia magna reproduction tests
Purpose: To determine the highest concentration that does not inhibit Daphnia magna reproduction (NOEC) and the lowest concentration that does inhibit reproduction (LOEC) over 21 days. It is furthermore possible to determine a concentration that inhibits X% of reproduction.
